The solid oak writing console creates an office corner of its own, known in the 19th century as the Captain's Desk. When the green leather cover on the top is removed, it transforms into a writing desk. There are drawer and shelf sections both under the cover and on the back for documents. On the side sections, there are four large volume drawers with brass handles. Golden oak has geometric patterned surfaces designed with marquetry craftsmanship on the front and lid edges.
